Sisterhood is a group where women can find fulfillment and belonging at River Valley Church. This group will start on Tuesday, September 26, and will end Tuesday, November 21. You can join this group no matter what age or stage of life you’re in. You also can come at any time! You are always welcome at Sisterhood, no matter when you decide to come. Hello! We meet at River Valley Shakopee on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30am. Starting Sep. 12, we will start a new book series discussing John Mark Comer's book 'The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World". Here is the synopsis: --- “Who am I becoming?” That was the question nagging pastor and author John Mark Comer. Outwardly, he appeared successful. But inwardly, things weren’t pretty. So he turned to a trusted mentor for guidance and heard these words: “Ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. Hurry is the great enemy of the spiritual life.” It wasn’t the response he expected, but it was—and continues to be—the answer he needs. Too often we treat the symptoms of toxicity in our modern world instead of trying to pinpoint the cause. A growing number of voices are pointing at hurry, or busyness, as a root of much evil. In this series we will discuss that even though we live in a divided chaotic world, God calls us to love one another. We will examine how the Bible teaches us to love even when it’s difficult.
