Welcome Home is your first step at River Valley Church. You were created for a purpose and we want to help you discover that purpose! You will build community, understand how God made you and dive deeper in your walk with Jesus. We can’t wait to meet you! We will meet on Thursdays at 6:30-7:30PM for 4 weeks at the home of Ben & Cathy Bertell on December 7, 14, 21, 28. Once Welcome Home is complete, we encourage you to find another small group where you can continue growing in your faith as you build friendships. Childcare is not provided.

The Good Neighbor program exists to empower the church to walk alongside refugees and immigrants with the love of Christ. Good Neighbors befriend refugees and asylum seekers by providing practical support and life skills to those who have been forced to flee their homelands. Our team will walk alongside a family for one year. Some of our responsibilities will be: * Welcome newly-arriving refugee family through Arrive Ministries’ Reception and Placement program. * Be one of the first faces to greet this family upon their arrival at the airport. * In partnership with the family’s case manager wewill have the opportunity to assist with appointments and help the family learn local systems, all while extending friendship to our newest neighbors. *Come alongside a refugee or immigrant family already living in Minnesota. * Provide support to families seeking asylum.

God desires that we overcome being ruled by our thoughts and feelings, which are highly influenced by our circumstances — family, work, health, or temptation. 2 Peter 1:3–4 tells us that we can actually do this! It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Men's Small Groups. Whether you’re still exploring faith in Christ, or you have been a Christian for many years, you’ll experience what we believe Jesus meant when He called His disciples to change the world by discovering and responding to His promises, truths, and commands. Serve Our Community | Union Gospel Mission | Woodbury

Join us as we serve meals with The Union Gospel Mission on the first and third Sundays of each month from 5:00pm-7:00pm! You can park anywhere in our lot, even in spots designated as staff only. You can enter through the Bethel Hotel entrance and our front desk staff will direct you to our kitchen area. Once you arrive in the kitchen, our kitchen staff will give instructions on how to serve the meal. We will provide everything you need, and our kitchen staff will be present the entire time to help and support you. Here are some other things to be mindful of: - Wear closed-toed shoes - Make sure clothing covers the chest, shoulders, underarms, torso, and knees - Hairnets (provided by UGMTC) or hat (brought by the volunteer) - Gloves and aprons (provided by UGMTC) Here is a helpful resource, https://volunteers.ugmtc.org/faq

There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled, empowered life! This eight-week Bible study will instruct, encourage and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Empower will meet every Thursday beginning February 8th through April 4th, 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Please note*** It is strongly recommended that you attend Alpha before attending Empower.
