God desires that we overcome being ruled by our thoughts and feelings, which are highly influenced by our circumstances — family, work, health, or temptation. 2 Peter 1:3–4 tells us that we can actually do this! It comes from learning to respond to God's promises in His Word and through prayer. This is the purpose of The Promise Principle Men's Lifegroups. This group starts on January 25th and ends on March 29th. You can join this group no matter what age or stage of life you’re in. You also can come at any time! You are always welcome at Sisterhood no matter when you decide to come. Let this be a safe place for you to grow in your relationship with God and build healthy relationships with other women. Once a month, the Maple Grove young adult small groups gather to hang out, play games and have fun. By registering to this group, you will get updates about future gatherings. Let's grow in our relationship with Jesus and have the time of our lives! Ages: 19-30

Finances can be a daunting conversation to have with yourself (or with a spouse), especially if you're in a large amount of debt and don't know what to do to get out and on your way to freedom. As Christians we're called to be free from limitations so we can live a life that additive to the kingdom of God based on our appreciation of Jesus' sacrifice. An important way to start the journey of a Christ centered life, of living in personal and spiritual freedom, is in our finances. For those new and old to finances, FPU is an excellent way to refresh yourself on good financial practices, and to start 2023 off in a way that sets you up for financial freedom. Plus, it enables you and your family the flexibility to walk in accordance to your purpose and calling with confidence. FPU is a 9 week program, but our group will go 10 weeks (09Feb2023 - 20Apr2023). The first week will be a meet and greet to get to know one another and discuss what to expect over the proceeding 9 week FPU program. This first week will set us up for incredible personal relationships that will keep you on the right track to financial peace. Although FPU can be done individually, there's immense value in going through it with a group for the added support to invigorate you in your financial journey. We will meet Bi-Weekly on Tuesdays. This is an opportunity for young Women of God to meet together in community and fellowship, growing and championing one another in our walk with God digging into His word in all seasons of life.

Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what we believe at River Valley Church. What do we believe about the Bible? Who is Jesus? How do I share my faith? If you have questions about being a Christian that you want to find genuine answers to, this is a safe place to get those answers! We share a meal around a table, listen to a talk on the week’s topic, and then have a discussion together to learn more about God and get to know one another in a deeper way.

This group is designed to get into God's Word, grow in your relationship with Jesus and connect to others. We will read the Bible together following River Valley's SOAP method. We can't wait to get to know you! Let's dig deep, build big and let God get all the glory as we move in His likeness. It's God's heart and will that we would mature in our faith and move into all that He has for us. Together let's move from striving to thriving as we share life together!

Following God isn't about striving; it's about trusting! As we study the chapters Isaiah wrote, we’ll see his challenging words to the nation of Israel and his prophecies of the Messiah to come. We will grow and learn to rest in God's promises as we trust God more and more. Join us for this 7-session video Bible study taught by Melissa Spoelstra…Isaiah's words will reveal that we can trust God more than our own human effort or the counterfeits the world suggests. We will begin to strive less and instead trust more deeply in the Faithful One who is so worthy of our utter dependence.

Together for Good offers tangible opportunities to come alongside vulnerable children and isolated parents. Volunteers offer practical help by hosting children during times of parental crisis, providing respite care for exhausted parents, and surrounding families with ongoing relational support through a network of care. This group will provide awareness and information and will have action steps for those who would like future engagement.
