I believe that we are going to end the year strong as we take ground as a church and see you take ground personally!

Ephesians 3:12 says, "In Christ we come before God with freedom and without fear. We can do this because of our faith in Christ." Join us this semester as we look at what the Bible says it means to live in freedom as we study the book of Ephesians. Sisterhood is a group where women can find fulfillment and belonging at River Valley Church. This season we are going to explore different characteristics that make a healthy community! This group starts on September 27th and ends on November 22nd. You can join this group no matter what age or stage of life you’re in. You also can come at any time! You are always welcome at Sisterhood no matter when you decide to come. Let this be a safe place for you to grow in your relationship with God and build healthy relationships with other women. We can't wait to welcome you! Free childcare will be offered with limited capacities on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will be required for each child individually which will secure a spot in childcare for the whole Sisterhood session. Childcare is available at a limited capacity. Once Welcome Home is complete, we encourage you to find another small group where you can continue growing in your faith as you build new friendships. River Valley Kids will be running Midweek for children in K-5th grade at the same time as Welcome Home. Midweek is a place where your kids will dive deeper into the topics shared during a Sunday service with fun elements of games and treats sprinkled in. Explore is a Core Group designed to inspire and enlarge your global heart as we study the biblical basis of missions and hear from some of our great missionaries. At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission. Explore will begin on Tuesday, September 26, and will meet from 6:30-8pm at the Minnetrista Campus by the Fireside. It is a 7-week group and will end on November 7.

This small group is created for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one, who has wrestled with questions such as "God, do you see me?," "God, why are you silent?," "What is the good in this?" This is a safe space to connect with others at River Valley Church who are grieving the loss of loved ones, pray for each other about the difficult and disappointing times we've faced and are continuing to face, and learn to lament in a Biblical way. We will be meeting once or twice a month over coffee and light breakfast. Grief and loss can feel so isolating, but God does not want us to walk it out alone. We would love to walk alongside you and together seek God amidst the joy and sorrow! Kids are welcome to come -- there will be unstructured play time.

They say raising kids takes a village and who better than surround yourself with other believers who can encourage and speak truth into your life and marriage. Join us as we dig into different bible studies to grow in our knowledge of God's Word, parenting skills and marriage. Our group meets over zoom twice a month. We found last year when having to do our group over zoom that it actually worked well for families with little kids to find community in this way (just put your kids to bed and hop on your computer). We will be trying to meet a couple times a small group season in person for family fellowship times. Please have each spouse register for the group. Look forward to having you join us!

Empower is open to anyone at River Valley that has been through our Alpha; if you have not attended Alpha you will need to sign up for that. There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled empowered life! This eight-week Bible study will instruct, encourage, experience and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit and how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Are you ready to get started? Our group will meet weekly at our campus on Wednesdays September 20 thru November 6, 6:30pm-8pm. Doors open and check in will be available beginning at 6pm. We will conclude our group by serving together on Tuesday Nov. 14 at 7pm in Coon Rapids (ages 5+ are welcome to attend)
