Alpha | Apple Valley Fall 2023

Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what River Valley believes. It answers questions like: Who is Jesus?, How do I read the Bible?, and Does God heal today? The format is simple: We share a meal around a table, listen to a talk on the week’s topic, and then have discussion together to learn more. Arrive at 6pm. If you have children, childcare is provided, you can check them in and drop them off at 545pm. Dinner is provided. Alpha will begin on Tuesday, September 26th in the Lounge. Our group will meet for 9 weeks, ending on Tuesday, November 21st.

Explore is a Core Group designed to inspire and enlarge your global heart as we study the biblical basis of missions and hear from some of our great missionaries. At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission (Mondays, Sept 25-Nov 13). For this season, free childcare will be offered with limited capacities on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration will be required for each child individually which will secure a spot in childcare for the whole Explore session. We'll be moving through different books of the Bible, chapter by chapter. The heart of this study is to look at the context of the passage and make observations (What does it say?), Interpretations (What does it mean?), and Applications (How does God want me to apply this in my life?). Whether you're a new believer or have been walking with Jesus most your life, this group will be beneficial for you! You'll be encouraged to study the chapter beforehand and come with questions of your own to discuss. We're meeting virtually Thursday mornings 6:30-7:30am. You can even join the call from work before you clock in.

The Promise Principle is a powerful tool to teach men how to hear the voice of God through reading the Bible. It calls men to a daily God connection in which He speaks clearly through His Word and promises transformation, power, and direction in our everyday lives, (Romans 12:2, 2 Peter 1:3-4). Men engaged in The Promise Principle experience what we call the “new accountability”. The old style of accountability focuses on sin management, while this new accountability propels men forward, igniting a passion to seek, hear, and obey the voice of God. This is where freedom in Christ becomes evident in our lives. God can then truly use us to inspire those around us to follow Him.
