Explore is a Core Group designed to inspire and enlarge your global heart as we study the biblical basis of missions and hear from some of our great missionaries. At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided each week. For this season, Ps. Chris Exley and his wife Brandi will be hosting the group in their home on Monday evenings. The Exley's recently joined the River Valley team as the Mobilization Pastors after serving on the missions field for over 15 years!

This group is designed to get into God's Word, grow in your relationship with Jesus and connect to others. We will read the Bible together following River Valley's SOAP method. We can't wait to get to know you! We will start the group with the "Take Ground" study guide that is inspired by this years vision that pastor rob shared in January. This small group is created for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one, who has wrestled with questions such as "God, do you see me?," "God, why are you silent?," "What is the good in this?" This is a safe space to connect with others at River Valley Church who are grieving the loss of loved ones, pray for each other about the difficult and disappointing times we've faced and are continuing to face, and learn to lament in a Biblical way. We will be meeting once or twice a month over coffee and light breakfast. Grief and loss can feel so isolating, but God does not want us to walk it out alone. We would love to walk alongside you and together seek God amidst the joy and sorrow! Kids are welcome to come -- there will be unstructured play time.

Sisterhood Evenings | Minnetrista Fall 2023

Ephesians 3:12 says, "In Christ we come before God with freedom and without fear. We can do this because of our faith in Christ." Join us this semester as we look at what the Bible says it means to live in freedom as we study the book of Ephesians. Sisterhood is a group where women can find fulfillment and belonging at River Valley Church. This group will begin on Tuesday, September 26 and end on Tuesday, November 27. You can join this group no matter what age or stage of life you’re in and can come at any time! Let this be a safe place for you to grow in your relationship with God and build healthy relationships with other women. We can't wait to welcome you! Childcare is available on a limited basis. A separate registration is required.

Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what River Valley believes. It answers questions like Who is Jesus?, How do I read the Bible? And Does God heal today? The format is simple: We share a meal around a table, listen to a talk on the week's topic, and then have discussion together to learn more. Our Fall semester will begin Monday, September 18, at 6:00pm. Dinner will be served each week, and childcare will be provided on a limited basis. A separate registration will be required for childcare. This group will meet for 10 weeks and will end on November 20.

Freedom is a Core Group that equips you to live a victorious faith. Sometimes, we are simply unaware of lies we believe and wrong patterns of thinking that keep us stuck. In this group, you will discover how to move forward to greater freedom in your life, faith, and future by taking a deeper look at your identity in Christ. Our group will meet weekly at our campus on Tuesdays September 19 thru November 7, 6:30pm-8pm. Doors open and check in will be available beginning at 6pm. We will conclude our group by serving together on our 9th week - Tuesday Nov. 14 at 7pm in Coon Rapids (ages 5+ are welcome to attend)

Welcome Home is your first step at River Valley Church. You were created for a purpose, and we want to help you discover that purpose! You will build community, understand how God made you and dive deeper into your walk with Jesus. We can’t wait to meet you! Once Welcome Home is complete, we encourage you to find another small group where you can continue growing in your faith as you build new friendships. River Valley Kids will be running Midweek for children in K-5th grade at the same time as Welcome Home. Midweek is a place where your kids will dive deeper into the topics shared during a Sunday service with fun elements of games and treats sprinkled in. If you have a child under 5 you will need to find childcare.
