Explore is a Core Group designed to inspire and enlarge your global heart as we study the biblical basis of missions and hear from some of our great missionaries. At River Valley, our heart is global because God’s heart is global. That’s why we believe that every follower of Jesus Christ should explore and know their role within God’s Great Commission (Mondays, Sept 25-Nov 13). For this season, free childcare will be offered with limited capacities on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration will be required for each child individually which will secure a spot in childcare for the whole Explore session. This group is designed to get into God's Word, grow in your relationship with Jesus and connect to others. We will read the Bible together following River Valley's SOAP method. We can't wait to get to know you! We will start the group with the "Take Ground" study guide that is inspired by this years vision that pastor rob shared in January. We believe that we are going to end the year strong as we take ground as a church and see you take ground personally!

We will be going through a Take Ground study guide that engages with different Scripture passages each week, connecting them to the vision for our church for this year! After we are done with the six week collective Take Ground plan, we will continue to study the Bible together following River Valley's SOAP method.

We are welcoming all mom's and dad's with kids to join us for a short devotional lesson, play/game/interact time for the kids and social time for the parents. We will be integrating various field trips so we can learn and explore our town and the surrounding area together. We will meet the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month. This group is co-lead by Sommer Cunningham, Taina Dubbels and Brooke Stang. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Our first meeting will be February 10th.

Good Neighbor Team | Collins

The Good Neighbor program exists to empower the church to walk alongside refugees and immigrants with the love of Christ. Good Neighbors befriend refugees and asylum seekers by providing practical support and life skills to those who have been forced to flee their homelands. Our team will walk alongside a family for one year. Some of our responsibilities will be: * Welcome newly-arriving refugee family through Arrive Ministries’ Reception and Placement program. * Be one of the first faces to greet this family upon their arrival at the airport. * In partnership with the family’s case manager wewill have the opportunity to assist with appointments and help the family learn local systems, all while extending friendship to our newest neighbors. *Come alongside a refugee or immigrant family already living in Minnesota. * Provide support to families seeking asylum.
