Alpha is a Core Group that unpacks what River Valley believes. It answers questions like: Who is Jesus?, How do I read the Bible?, and Does God heal today? The format is simple: We share a meal around a table, listen to a talk on the week’s topic, and then have discussion together to learn more. We meet from 6-8pm starting 9/11 (kick off night) ending 11/20. Childcare is available.

We meet weekly on Thursday evenings with the focus of coming together with other Single men and women who want to learn more about Scripture and create a Godly Singles Community that supports one another. We will meet in the Family Auditorium at the River Valley Church Apple Valley Campus. 6:45-8 pm We will do a video study followed by discussions related to the video. After the session ends we will go to a local restaurant for food, fellowship and sharing.

Freedom is a Core Group that equips you to live a victorious faith. Sometimes, we are simply unaware of the lies we believe and the wrong patterns of thinking that keep us stuck. In this group, you will discover how to move forward to greater freedom in your life, faith, and future by taking a deeper look at your identity in Christ. Freedom will meet every Monday starting September 18th and ending November 13th. Childcare is provided, and you can check your children in at 6:15pm. Freedom will begin at 6:30pm and will end at 8:00pm.

Empower | City Campus | Fall 2023

There is nothing more exciting than living a Spirit-filled empowered life! This eight-week Bible study will instruct, encourage, experience and inspire you to walk in all that Jesus has made available to you through the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the gifts that He imparts. These gifts are vital and need to be used in order to be effective witnesses for Him. In this study you will learn about the unseen world, which is called the Spirit realm. Even though we don't see it with our physical eyes, we interact with it on a daily basis. You will also learn in detail about each of the nine gifts of the Spirit and how they are used throughout the Old and New Testament by ordinary people. Finally, you will have the opportunity to deepen your relationship with the Lord through the lessons on prayer and intercession. Are you ready to get started? Empower is open to anyone at River Valley that has been through our core groups Alpha and Freedom. If you have not done 1 or both of them yet, we would strongly encourage attending those small groups before attending Empower. It will be helpful to you for receiving what God has in store for you. Empower will meet on campus on Tuesday nights, 6:30pm-8pm, from September 26 thru November 21.

This group is for those who wish to bless others by making a meal. When a family is facing a challenging situation (whether a new baby, health diagnosis, emergency, etc.) and could use some support, my desire is to help provide some meals. When a need arises, I will create a meal train schedule & send it out to all members. You do not need to participate for every need - you can choose what works for you! My goal is to grow the group to easily provide for any need without relying too heavily on any member. This is not a typical small group & will not be meeting together.
