Troy and Heidi Jo Darrin seek to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Moldova. They team up with national pastors in church planting and construction efforts, partner with Convoy of Hope in community outreaches and minister in churches every week, preaching and encouraging the congregations. In addition, Heidi is involved in working against human trafficking—especially that of young women—through prevention awareness and the discipling of young women.
First Mission
Troy’s first trip was in 1985 to Mexico City with Mike Shields, Rick Wilkerson and Bob Kilpatrick in a church planting effort. This trip was tremendous and marked the beginning of his missions journey. During his 20 years of pastoral ministry in the United States, Troy went on to lead 10 short-term mission trips with youth and adults before being called into full-time missions.
Becoming a Missionary
In September 2005, Troy led a short-term mission trip to Moldova from his church, Waukesha First Assembly of God. Within a week of returning, both he and Heidi felt the call to Moldova—and on September 27, 2005, they said yes to God and to missions.

Global Initiative has done trainings in over 91 countries. We work with National Church Leaders, Bible schools, and local pastors. We teach undergrad and graduate level classes as well as do many Lay minister and church seminars and conferences. Recently we have been creating resources and curriculums that we are (and have) been translating into multiple languages and posting for free online. Many of these resources can be found at our “connect link” above. We have a BIG DREAM that we are working on now. It is to create a secure app we’re christian around the world can download and receive training on reaching Muslims for free. **again on another note :-) when we are in Springfield, we help organize and participate In and English conversation club put on for the Saudi families here in town. Through this club we have built friendship with the Saudis that are here in the states for one year. We have them to our house for dinner, go to theirs and go on outings together. Each holiday season we host a large Thanksgiving dinner and facilitate multiple Christmas parties and events. These times give us many opportunities to share the truth of Jesus.

At the moment, leadership has asked me to temporarily base out of Springfield with the Africa’s Hope team here until a decision is made about where on the continent a new Africa’s Hope team will be based. Until then, I’m traveling regularly to different countries around Africa to teach, meet with church leaders and translation teams, and be involved with a variety of other ministry.

The population of Germany is currently 84 Million plus and has grown significantly through the influx of refugees from the Middle-East, Africa and most recently from Ukraine. We live in a small town surrounded by over 300.000 residents, yet there is not a Pentecostal church within a 50 kilometer radius. We desire to see this changed.

Staffing and leading (directing) DTS: This includes being a mentor and walking alongside students in this 3 month lecture phase and leading the 2 month international outreach. -Worship and music ministry: We get to lead worship at our YWAM base and once a month at our local church, Horizonte. Currently we are leading worship for our summer Mission Adventures teams (highschool/college teams that come back-to-back for a week camp to be trained in evangelism and go out into our community and share Jesus). We’ve also been a part of the music ministry called Contraste where we play music in cafes/restaurants and use it as a tool to draw people in to evangelize. -Homes of Hope: Building homes for families living in poverty in our community. My husband and I get to host teams and be a part of the 2-3 day house builds. My husband has also been a part of the family-selection team.

However, idol worship of Guadalupe is prevalent in the city among the Catholic population, and the Audorffs are praying for the spirit of idolatry to be broken by the name of Jesus. Monterrey is also home to much poverty and has had many recent problems with drug trafficking.

Malaga is a city of over 650,000 people. It is a fast-growing, international hot spot in Europe. Located in the southern region of Andalusia, this city is known for its rich foods, deep traditions, and complex history. From 2016 until today, Malaga ranks third behind Madrid and Barcelona, as a top destination for international business in Spain. The people of Malaga have a great love for life and family. Sadly, they have a long history filled with heartache and loss. The spiritual awakening of the reformation that touched much of Europe in the 1500s has not yet found its way there. People are looking for hope. In this highly secularized city, many have never heard of the loving Savior and have never witnessed a vibrant, Spirit-filled church. We know that a life-giving, community of faith that chooses to authentically and compassionately love those around them, will be an undeniable light in the darkness and a beacon of hope for the hopeless.
