What You Need to Know
When packing for Summer Camp, please make sure that your child’s luggage is labeled with
his/her name, and that your child is aware and familiar with what his/her luggage looks like. When we arrive to Camp and unload the trailers, the campers will need to help locate their belongings.
You may also want to put sleeping bag/blankets and pillow in a large garbage bag and label it with your child’s name to keep it all together.
Medication (such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, or any first-aid) needs are provided by the Camp Nurses and you DO NOT need to send these.
If your child has any prescription medication, please fill out a form. ALL medication must be in its original and clearly labeled bottle. No exceptions. Place medication bottle and form in a Ziplock bag and bring with you to check-in. Even if a medication form was previously fi I led-out, it will need to be filled out again because the form must be with your child’s medication.
A big highlight of Summer Camp each year are COLOR TEAMS! Your child has been assigned to a specific Color Team which will be their team for the week. All children and staff are encouraged to dress in the color of their Color Team.
You may send money with your child to Camp for him/her to spend at the Camp Store, Snack Shack, or to give in the offering. Spending money must be turned in at check-in and will be kept safe with the Banker at Camp. Campers will have access to their money every day. Many parents ask us how much they should send with their child and that is completely up to you. The average is about $20. Please do not feel like you have to send money; everything your child needs will be provided.
If you would like to send a care package or letter to your child while he/she is at Camp, the address is:
605 Birch Avenue – Alexandria, MN 56308
Please place your child’s name and “Kids Camp Session 4” on the package/letter. Mail early to ensure on-time arrival.
Stay connected with River Valley Kids while we are at Summer Camp! We will be posting highlights each day from the campground so make sure you are following us on lnstagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Search for@rivervalley_kids!

We’ve compiled a packing list for your camper to use! Please pack each of these items to ensure your child has everything he/she needs to have the best possible camp experience. Whether your child is a first-time camper or a seasoned pro, we know they will love Summer Camp! We have a few suggestions to make this year the best ever and to ensure all items brought to camp are returned back home.
