The Café Serve Team creates a warm and welcoming environment, makes coffee and other drinks, restocks the creamer/sugar and paper products, sets out and restocks bakery items, performs minor cleaning during their service time and takes everything down after last service.
The Facility Maintenance Team assists with campus maintenance and repair. This team serves on an as needed basis.
The Greeter Team welcomes people, shares a smile, shakes a hand, watches for newcomers and is a friendly presence as people walk into our campus. Greeter team members are also a personal guide for new guests by taking them directly to the location in the building or to the individual they need.
The Host role is a position for people who are able to connect with new people at River Valley. Their job is to actively seek out those who are new to our church as well as those who seem disengaged. Hosts meet those who are new to the church and show them around the building, answer any questions they have and connect them to other members in the congregation. They also talk to those who seem “disengaged” whether they are sitting by themselves or in the auditorium during the in between time of services. Hosts really go above and beyond to help people feel welcomed and build relationships with others.
The Parking Lot Serve Team sets up parking cones; directs inbound/outbound traffic flow; assists attendees to make their way into the building; helps our elderly and handicapped as needed; makes all our first time guests feel welcome by directing, waving, and clapping; answering any questions or concerns they may have; and helps to direct them where they need to go.
The Prayer Serve Team prays with people after each service. Prayer Serve Team members will have opportunities to pray for healing, salvation, challenging life situations and much more! This is not intended to be a counseling position.
The Security Serve Team ensures safety during our weekend services. Security Serve Team members monitor the flow of children and parents in our Go Kids area and secures building entrances and exits. They also assist with any disruptions, special circumstances or emergencies that may arise.
The Adult application is for anyone 18 years or older that desires to serve in River Valley Kids. Because our children’s safety is a top priority, a background check and references checks will be processed prior to being approved to serve. Upon completion of the application and screening, someone from the campus will connect with you to determine the area of serving that best fits your gifts and schedule. The Junior Serve Team application is for anyone 12-17 years old who desires to serve in River Valley Kids. Upon completion of the application, someone at the campus will review your references and contact you to determine the best fit for your gifts and schedule. Thank you for your heart to serve. Usher Serve Team members actively assist guests with seating as they enter, remaining alert to any special needs; facilitates the offering; counts people in a specific section of the auditorium and distributes connect cards and envelopes. They are also responsible for minor cleaning of the auditorium following the service.
The Welcome Center Serve Team provides assistance and a friendly greeting to both new and regular attendees to our church, provides materials and resources for attendees to connect with the church, offers direction and assistance in orienting guests with the building and ministry areas, and maintains printed materials that are displayed. Prep work before serving would be spending time looking over the church website and reading provided printed materials in order to be familiar with current events in the church.
Adults leading our Junior and Senior High students on Wednesday and/or Sunday nights. We also ask our leaders to attend a monthly leader meeting and some events.
